DRIVING OPPORTUNITIES
We are currently looking for a volunteer driver to deliver 5-7 buckets of Bloom bouquets to the Mall 205 offices of one of our hospice partners every other Tuesday. The driver would need to pick up bouquets at our SW Miller Rd. workspace between 9:30am and 10:30am on Tuesday mornings and take them directly to our hospice partner’s offices.

We also occasionally need volunteer drivers with large-capacity vehicles (large SUV, pickup truck, panel van) to fill in/substitute on larger pick-ups  from wholesale partners at locations including Swan Island, Aurora, and Wilsonville and deliver them to our SW Portland workspace. Most of these pick-ups/deliveries take place Monday-Friday before 3pm.

If you are interested in training as an occasional fill-in/substitute driver and have a large-capacity vehicle please send an email with the subject line “Interested in Fill-In Volunteer Driving” with your name, phone number and preferred email contact address to: s.addison@thebloomproject.org. Please make sure to include your general availability each week as well as the type of vehicle you have. Our one-hour training class for fill-in/substitute drivers is generally offered every 12-16 weeks depending on need/interest.

PROCESSING/ARRANGING OPPORTUNITIES
Currently, we are not accepting new applications for processing/arranging volunteer opportunities.

However, if you would like to be notified when we reopen our application process, please send an email with the subject line “Interested in Processing/Arranging Training Class” with your name, phone number and preferred email contact address to: s.addison@thebloomproject.org.

Please note that our processing/arranging sessions take place on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays before noon and are held in a converted greenhouse where volunteers stand on cement floors for the entire session (approx. 2.5 hours). In order to qualify for training, you must have availability to regularly volunteer on either Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays before noon and be physically capable of standing for 2.5 hours. In addition, because of the extensive training required (approx. 20 hours), we ask that volunteers be committed to volunteering a minimum of 3-4 times a month for at least a year. All training classes & weekly work sessions take place at our workspace located at 160 SW Miller Road, Portland OR 97225.
